We are currently hiring a Financial Analyst in Birmingham, AL.
What will you do as a Financial Analyst?
- Analyze business operations and financial performance to identify trends, issues, and opportunities
- Prepare monthly actuals, budgets, forecasts, and projection reports
- Provide clear variance analyses and summary insights for management
- Develop documentation and materials for budget and prioritization meetings
- Lead data collection efforts, budget revisions, and financial projections
- Conduct financial research, planning, monitoring, and reporting
- Deliver budgeting and accounting support, including training for internal clients
- Ensure accurate accounting practices and provide general accounting assistance
- Provide financial insights to guide resource allocation and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support the business unit in achieving budget and cost targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial models and forecasting
- Maintain compliance through required control activities and audits
- Lead or support special projects as assigned
- Build strong relationships and communication channels with business units and corporate partners
Who qualifies for the Financial Analyst position?
- 5–7 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and financial modeling
- Proven ability to advise leadership using data-driven insights and actionable recommendations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial systems (PowerPlan, CSS, Oracle, etc.) preferred
- Strong understanding of financial forecasting, corporate finance principles, and variance analysis
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience leading process improvements and identifying cost optimization opportunities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred
- Background check and drug screen required.
What hours will the Financial Analyst work?
- Monday – Friday, on-site, flexible hours between 7am – 6pm, 8 hours/day
- Full-time, 40 hours/week, occasion driving required to offsite locations
- Temporary contract, estimated 6 months, subject to change
How much will you earn as a Financial Analyst?
- Starting pay is up to $38/hour, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training
