Job Description
As an Application Engineer at Cook, you’re part of a talented team of Engineers that takes ideas and turns them into reality. You’ll be involved in every step from the original customer request, to design and product implementation. You will offer consultation with production and installation as your designs add value to the air quality of commercial and industrial buildings across the US and around the globe.
Responsibilities
- Generate engineering quotes for special customer requests.
- Create special designs or modify standard designs to satisfy specific customer requests.
- Deliver special product support to manufacturing, customer service, and purchasing to ensure delivery schedule and product quality is maintained.
- Provide customer support including phone support and plant visits.
- Visit customer sites as required to trouble shoot field application and installation issues.
- Other duties may be assigned as required
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor of Science – Mechanical or related Engineering field
- Experience in mechanical design utilizing CAD software
- Experience with sheet metal design and manufacturing
- 3-5 years’ experience preferred
- Experience with structural analysis a plus
- Prior experience in HVAC is a plus

Job Description
Design Engineer is responsible for the design and development of Loren Cook air moving equipment utilizing Computer Aided Design, CAD, during the design process.
Responsibilities
- Design air moving equipment utilizing CAD software and other Engineering design tools to meet project requirements.
- Manages and coordinates product development projects to ensure the design meets requirements and is completed in the required time frame.
- Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and modified products.
- Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
- Review progress continually through product life cycle to ensure attainment of objectives.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor of Science – Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in product development utilizing CAD software
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Sheet Metal Fabrication is preferred
- Experience with structural analysis and/or computational fluid dynamics helpful but not required
- Prior experience in HVAC is a plus
