What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Two Year Old Teacher, 1 yr old teacher and afternoon staff position at Lord's Lambs Child Care?
We are looking for qualified Teachers for our Twos Classrooms, 1yr old room and afternoon staff due to staff going back to school and childcare enrollment increasing to support children in their play by modeling appropriate behavior. Teachers will guide them in their exploration and encourage them to use their imagination. Our Teachers must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and Early Childhood Educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust. We are a non-profit Christian Center that is committed to teach children God's love, forgiveness and grace. We do follow a Christian curriculum. This includes prayers before meals, a weekly bible story and Chapel time on Wednesdays.
We do start potty training in this classroom following the parents lead.
Responsibilities
- Develop a safe and creative program suitable for two year old children
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Love for working with and caring for children
- Experience in an Early Childhood Center preferred
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development
- Excellent supervision skills
- Ability to act in emergency situations
- Compassionate, loving, friendly and reliable
- Certification in child First Aid and CPR (or the willingness to be trained)
- Knowledge or willingness to teach the Christian Faith
- Valid drivers license or reliable/dependable transportation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
