Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects [LOHA] is seeking an Intermediate Architect to join our team in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1994, LOHA is an award-winning architecture and urban design firm that endeavors to create transformative architecture by centering social ideals within all projects and by prioritizing the living history of local communities. With specialization in a variety of typologies—multi-family and student housing, mixed-use commercial space, cultural institutions, and more—LOHA seeks to foster candidates with like-minded aspirations toward design excellence.
The candidate will join an experienced, creative team with a portfolio of work that is rooted in our mission of embracing architecture’s role as a catalyst for change. Considered applicants must have strong design and graphic skills, an ability to assume a significant role in larger projects and run smaller projects with oversight. Candidate will be expected to contribute expertise throughout all phases of project development. The position involves working closely with project leads and directors and integration into a collaborative office culture. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch. or M.Arch.) from an accredited institution
- 4 years Professional work experience through all phases of design
- Proficient in Revit, Rhino, V-Ray and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong graphic capability illustrating schematic design concepts with models, renderings & diagrams
- An exceptional portfolio of student and professional work
- A collaborative and proactive approach to working as part of a team
- The ability to run semi-autonomously with direction
- Experience with consultant coordination
- Ability to execute deliverables within rapid project schedule
- Ability to lead documentation of small projects and capable of detailing and producing construction documents
- An ability to express ideas in a clear and effective manner through a variety of media
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A passion for and commitment to design excellence in alignment with the LOHA mission to elevate the human condition through the built environment
- U.S. citizen, hold a green card or have work authorization
