Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller for the timely and accurate financial reporting and managing various aspects of accounting while ensuring policies and procedures are followed, including all relevant federal and state regulatory rules. This role will work directly with the Company's Controller in the preparation of financial reports and statements as well as Sales/Use tax returns and Payroll Tax Returns. The staff accountant will help and work with the accounting team managing billings, collections, accounts payable and payroll.

Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly workpapers to support a timely and accurate month-end close.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts as part of the monthly close process.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and prepare required financial reports.
- Accurately record accounting transactions using the company's ERP system (COINS).
- Prepare and file various tax returns, including sales/use tax and payroll taxes, along with year-end reporting.
- Support cross-functional initiatives by completing related tasks and contributing to team goals.
- Drive special projects that align with strategic business objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
- Deliver relevant and timely financial information to business stakeholders to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to gain insights and share financial expertise that promotes business excellence across the organization
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field. MBA or CPA a plus, but not required.
- Construction experience preferred but not required.
- At least 5 years experience in accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
- Working knowledge of Excel, including use of V-lookup/Pivot tables/graphs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
