Overview
We’re hiring a Staff Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager (manager experience preferred) to join our team at Lopez Island Pharmacy, the island’s healthcare hub since 1978, located in the beautiful San Juan Islands region. This is a full-time role for a pharmacist who wants to be part of a close-knit island community pharmacy built on the belief that neighbors take care of neighbors.

Lopez Island Pharmacy is located right in the heart of the village, across from the bank and behind the museum. For over 40 years we’ve been the heart of healthcare on Lopez Island, and under new ownership we’re carrying that tradition forward with the same familiar faces and compassionate service islanders have trusted for generations. Our mission is simple: we combine trusted medication expertise with outstanding patient care to create a healthier community.
We’re part of Cascadia Pharmacy Group (CPG), a Pacific Northwest network of independent pharmacies offering business administration support, along with collaboration and negotiating power.
The Community
Lopez Island is part of Washington’s San Juan Islands, a short ferry ride from the mainland. It’s the kind of place where patients are neighbors, where you’ll know people by name, and where a pharmacist becomes one of the most trusted, familiar faces on the island - in line with our vision that every patient’s health and well-being is enhanced through patient-centered, employee-emphasized, innovative care on Lopez Island.
What We Offer
- Compensation: $68–$72/hr (DOE)
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:30am–6:15pm (1-hour lunch break)
- Health benefits: 75% company-covered health, vision & dental
- Retirement & PTO: 1–3 weeks DOE and years with company, plus standard/competitive retirement plan
- Loan repayment eligibility: eligible for a Washington state loan repayment program - $70,000 every 2–3 years, depending on hours worked
- Housing assistance available: a partially compensated 1 bed/1 bath house, or a living stipend depending on situation
Your Day-to-Day
- Provide exceptional patient care and medication counseling
- Manage daily pharmacy operations and ensure regulatory compliance
- Build meaningful relationships with patients and prescribers across the Lopez Island community
- Support clinical services: immunizations, diabetes & mobility aides, packaged medications, patient consultations
- Help maintain the welcoming, neighbor-first feel that sets Lopez Island Pharmacy apart
What We’re Looking For
- Active pharmacist license in good standing (WA required)
- Compassionate, patient-first approach and strong communication skills
- Comfortable working as part of a small, close-knit pharmacy team
- Pharmacy management experience preferred; interest in clinical services and community pharmacy a plus
