What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Planner OKC position at LOPEZ FOODS INC?
POSITION PURPOSE
The Planner is responsible for improving the work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning. The Planner will provide a structured Job Plan to help insure efficient and effective deployment of necessary resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Research a task to be performed and record details in a structured chronological job plan.
- Along with the job plan, attach all pertinent job safety requirements, required permits, Material Safety Data Sheets and all pertinent rules and regulations.
- Include in the job plan all tools and parts necessary to perform the task in the most effective manner.
- Initiate and track the procurement of parts, special tools, and rental equipment required in the job plans.
- Include with the job plan, the status of all parts required in the plan including lead-time, contacts etc.
- Include in the job plan the required crafts, special skills and number of technicians necessary to perform the task most effectively and efficiently.
- Include with the job plan copies of all Maintenance SOPs, drawings, pictures, and etc. that might aid the technicians in doing the job most effectively and efficiently.
- Include in the job plan a best estimate of the hours and cost required for the task to be performed.
- Be responsible for the collection of all parts and special tools included in a job plan to be used by the engineers.
- Facilitate the development and revision of Maintenance SOPs.
- Assist in coordinating planning activities as required for installation of new plant equipment or modifications.
- Participate in team effort to develop engineering procedures and preventive and predictive maintenance process for all critical equipment within the facility.
- Focus on long range planning activities – removed from day to day crisis management. Develop an annual PM calendar. Participate in weekly planning activities.
- Identify critical component needs and critical material need and establish re-order points/quantities to ensure components are on site or quickly sourced to minimize downtime.
- Track equipment repair history, costs and repetitive repairs to develop/implement proactive repair planning.
- Assist is assuring accuracy of all equipment data.
- Assist in the identification of training and skill development needs and plans for engineering personnel.

- Knowledgeable of plant equipment design, proper operation and maintenance.
- Must possess and utilize excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to utilize common office equipment such as copier, fax, telephone and computer in day to day activities.
- Understand and know how to use precision measurement tools: Micrometers, Depth gages, Calipers, etc.
- Must be competent in use of the asset and maintenance computerized management system (7i)
- Possess ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports and manuals. Drawings will include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc.

- Possess organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, technical as well as people skills: this includes adapting to situations, dealing with issues in a constructive manner, motivating others to high levels of cooperation, consensus, and achievement.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems and appropriate solutions in swiftly developing job plans.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations involved in estimating and purchasing.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
