We are seeking an experienced Concrete Commercial Estimator specializing in curbs, gutters, sidewalks, flatwork, and small-to-mid-scale site concrete. The estimator will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and timely bids by reviewing plans, conducting quantity takeoffs, analyzing project requirements, and communicating effectively with clients, vendors, and internal project teams. Estimating & TakeoffsPerform detailed quantity takeoffs for curbs, gutters, sidewalks, ADA ramps, driveways, slabs, and other site concrete elements.Review architectural, civil, and structural plans, specifications, and addenda for scope requirements.Analyze soil conditions, elevations, and site logistics to determine production rates and costs.Prepare accurate change orders, cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions.PreferredExperience with public works, street improvements, or municipal sidewalk/ADA projects.Knowledge of DOT or local city specs (curb & gutter profiles, mix designs, ADA standards).Familiarity with project management or estimating software (Procore)Bidding & Proposal PreparationPrepare complete bid packages including scope sheets, clarifications, exclusions, and pricing breakdowns.Solicit vendor and supplier pricing for concrete, rebar, forming materials, and finishes.Evaluate subcontractor quotes and ensure alignment with project scope.Submit bids on time and follow up with clients as needed.CompensationCompetitive salary based on experienceOpportunities for advancement within the estimating or project management teamRequired3–5 years of commercial concrete estimating experience (curbs, gutters, sidewalks, flatwork, or site concrete).Strong proficiency with takeoff software (Bluebeam).Ability to read and interpret civil and architectural drawings.Solid understanding of concrete production rates, materials, and construction sequencing.Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple bids simultaneously.Company DescriptionAt Lopez Engineering, we specialize in pouring curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.
