Trading Analyst – Fixed Income Trading

The objective of this position is to provide assistance to the Muni Short Desk teams in the following areas: analysis, accounting, clearing, research, systems, operations and trading and underwriting in the short-term municipal securities division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the team in all related tasks in working with municipal bond funds helping them finance bonds using a Tender Option Bond(TOB) program, acting as Trustor and Administrative Agent.
- Generate, verify and reconcile TOB Trust cash flow reports with TOB remarketing agents and trustees
- Support all municipal trading related functions including writing tickets between counterparties.
- Provide trade settlement support to the operations team.
- Manage TOB expense tracking system which can generate invoices automatically and responsible of tracking and collecting past due invoices
- Generate TOB daily, weekly , monthly and special ad-hoc reports
- Assist the team in all municipal short-term trading activities
- Provide immediate and/or backup coverage on incoming inquires; ensuring that internal and external client inquiries are handled in a timely manner.
- Assist in establishing daily and weekly rates in Bloomberg and Ipreo.
- Prepare slides in PowerPoint for client presentations and complete requests for proposals (RFPs) for submission.
- Generate and reconcile invoices and track past due invoices.
- Assist with Municipal Securities Rule Making Board (MSRB) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) filing requirements (e.g., EMMA/SHORT reporting).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting is required.
- One year of experience with a financial services or investment banking firm is preferred.
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), proficient with Bloomberg, Ipreo and Thomson Reuters is preferred.
- Knowledge of financial products, exposure to corporate investment banking, business development, equity, public finance and sales and trading acumen is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, effective speaker and active listening)
- Strong bond mathematical skills
- Strong financial, research, valuation and quantitative skills; ability to work with mathematical concepts (e.g., probability and statistical inference)
