What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associates position at Loop Capital?
Associates for New York, NY location. Work with team to plan, analyze and develop complex financial debt and rating agency strategies for clients, including state and local government, hospitals, healthcare organizations, higher education and cultural institutions. Develop innovative financing structures and models for public/municipal finance clients and optimize bond transactions with total par size of $1 billion. Provide quantitative financial coverage for clients, and as senior underwriter, execute transactions (analyzing, loading structuring debt coordinating financing team members, due diligence activities, analyzing documentation). Lead execution of live transactions including preparation of detailed memoranda and presentations and analyzing the key attributes of clients. Restructure financial transactions to reduce client debt costs. Perform quantitative and commodity analysis for new money and refunding using variable and fixed rate debt, bonds, current interest bonds, capital appreciation bonds and general obligation and revenue credits interest rate swaps, and restructuring. Interact with financial advisors, law firms, credit rating agencies to close transactions. Work on Request for Proposals (RFPs). Prepare proposals and make presentations to prospective clients. Oversee creation of investor presentations. Mentor and train junior analysts. Technical skills: DBC Finance, Bloomberg, SDC, Excel, Python, Refinitiv Workspace; NYC Debt Management System (NYC DMS), Thomson SDC Platinum, Ipreo Municipal Application, BD Advanced Ipreo and What's Best. Master’s degree in Finance or Economics or Analytics or related field plus two years of experience as an Analyst. Required Skills: Strong quantitative skills and municipal finance investment banking experience developing financial models to structure bond transactions with par size of $1 billion or more/transaction; performing new money and refunding analyses using DBC Finance including variable and fixed rate bonds, current interest bonds, capital appreciation bonds and general obligation and revenue credits; participating in the execution of senior managed deals including coordination of all financing team members, due diligence activities, analyzing and structuring debt, and analyzing financial legal documentation; presenting financing and credit analysis plans to clients; creating investor presentations; understanding of New York Local Finance Law; Python, Refinitiv Workspace, Bloomberg, DBC Finance, SDC, NYC DMS, Ipreo (BD Advanced). Must complete pre-hire affidavit/Compliance Review and pass employer administered Excel Exam.
