Fleet Mechanic

Pay Rate: $37.34 per hour Shift: 6am – 2:30pm (M-F)   Job Description: As a Mechanic, you will work with your team to service and repair all fleet vehicles.   Responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all company vehicle types per company policy. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electrical irregularities/malfunctions on all-size vehicles. Document all vehicle repair and inspection information using our maintenance software program. Perform inventory and order parts and supplies as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment per company standards.   Performance Requirements: Required operational knowledge of diesel equipment and tools normally associated with the troubleshooting and repairs of gasoline and diesel truck equipment. Knowledge of International diesel medium-duty trucks as well as Ford gas and diesel engines, is preferred. Must be able to accurately perform preventive maintenance to fleet vehicles, can identify component failures and worn or damaged parts, diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle systems, and produce quality repairs. Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges. Must possess a valid driver's license (C or better) and meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations. Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift (up to 50 lbs.), push, pull, climb, and lie on back in a horizontal position for prolonged periods. Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems as well as web-based maintenance tracking software. Ability to communicate verbally using the telephone for ordering parts and supplies as needed. Ability to hoist any size vehicle with a lifting device (vehicle jack) using foot and arms pumping motion. Work is performed outdoors and in a semi-enclosed structure. The environment involves chemical handling, gasoline/diesel fumes, and intermittent high-noise exposure. A full-time schedule consists of a minimum 40-hour work week. Must meet DOT standards to achieve brake and annual inspection certifications. A minimum of 1 year experience or a certificate from an approved training program. Basic hand tools are required. ASE or manufacturing certification is preferred.   Working Conditions: A full-time schedule potentially consists of an average of 40 hours per week for a 5-day work week. Work is performed outdoors and in a semi-enclosed structure. The environment involves chemical handling, gasoline/diesel fumes, and intermittent high-noise exposure.   Essential Duties/Job Qualifications: As part of the qualification process for the Mechanic position, a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) is required.
