The Lookout Mountain Club is seeking a reliable and caring Child Care Worker to join our team and help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. In this role, you will supervise daily activities, lead age-appropriate games and learning experiences, and support children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and preparing snacks or meals as needed. You will also communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child’s day, progress, and any concerns.
The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and energetic, with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with children. Previous childcare experience is preferred.
Seasonal or Part-Time
Hourly rate is $15
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Help teach children to share toys and to work in groups.
- Provide a comfortable, safe and non-threatening environment for children.
- Firmly but fairly discipline children, help them control disruptive behavior and teach them good habits when necessary.
- Requires being alert to and anticipating situations that would compromise the children’s physical or emotional well-being.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Plays games with children.
- Reads to the children.
- Supervises children’s play activities.
- Resolves disputes between children as necessary.
- Maintains safe and clean facility.
- Keeps play areas in safe, tidy and clean condition.
- Changes diapers and pull-ups on younger children and assists with potty training.
- Maintains toys and games.
- Orders food and beverages for children
- Completes other appropriate tasks as assigned.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Requires constant standing, walking, bending over, stooping and lifting to tend to the children’s needs and provide a clean environment.
- Setting may be noisy and cluttered at times.
