As a Teacher at Riverfront School and Career Center you will be responsible for designing and implementing educational services for at-risk high school students in an accredited alternative school. This position will be teaching Algebra and Geometry. The schedule would be 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm.This position works 10 months, and then has a two month involuntary leave in the summer, and returns late August. Benefits coverage continues through the Summer.
Essential Functions:
1. Develops and implements education curriculum for youth with diverse educational levels and needs in a small group setting.
2. Provides tutorial instruction to youth as needed.
3. Uses computer for classroom applications and record keeping.
4. Maintains accurate records for school district purposes and contract compliance.
5. Maintains regular contact with guardians regarding student performance.

The Riverfront School is an accredited alternative school that partners with local school districts to provide individual education opportunities to youth. Riverfront's mission is to "guide and support youth in developing the knowledge, responsibility, and the social skills necessary for productive citizenship." Riverfront also operates as a Career Center for students with the goal to link academic and occupational learning for each youth.
Qualified candidates have a bachelor's degree in education, is a licensed teacher in the state of Oregon, and have at least two years of classroom experience. Experience working with at-risk, learning-delayed, and special education youth is preferred.
