What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secretary position at Lonoke Primary School?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, routes calls
- Maintains school records and files for building, principal and related requirements
- Serves as confidential secretary to principal
- Distributes mail for entire building
- Reviews principal’s mail and brings attention to important pieces of mail
- Greets all visitors in a professional, pleasant and friendly manner
- Types, prepares, distributes, files records/reports, correspondence etc. related to building functions and principal needs
- Takes/transcribes notes for correspondence
- Attend open house and parent teacher conferences
- Maintain accurate student attendance records for building and associated correspondence and reporting
- eSchool data entry for student records / Cognos reports / Triand reporting
- Building / accurate club deposits
- Building requisitions / purchase orders
- Building security access (name badges if applicable)
- Time clocks / attendance reporting for building staff
- Building supply orders (copier / paper / general supplies)
- Liaison for parents, students, and community
- Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met
- Display professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions
- Communicate with Nurse and fill in during emergencies.
