Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the positions of Athletics Bus Driver / Transportation Operator III (T0031, T0032). These are part-time, on-site roles for a CDL-P Driver. The driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting students, faculty, and staff in a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) that requires a Class P commercial driver's license (CDL). This role requires adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards, as well as demonstrating excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class P commercial driver's license (CDL-P) with passenger endorsement.
- Excellent driving record and knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to operate a CMV safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
- Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
Additional Information:
These are part-time, non-exempt, temporary wage positions limited to an average of 29 hours per week and 1,500 hours maximum per work year. Pay band 3. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany these positions. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required.
