LongView Farms is a progressive, professional row-crop grain farm that raises corn, soybeans, and seed corn in Central Iowa. The primary responsibilities of an operations teammate are to operate, support, and maintain a modern line of farm equipment, vehicles, and facilities. Common tasks include operating farm equipment for tillage, fertilizer application, chemical application, planting, mowing, harvesting, and transporting grain. Another priority of an operations teammate is facilities maintenance.Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, operate other farm equipment, plant trees, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers, load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, record agricultural data, drive farm trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, buildings, grounds. Operating detasseling equipment and male corn destruction equipment. Climbing bin ladders to inspect and clean bins and grain dryer. Obtain and maintain commercial and private applicators certification. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
