The Wound Ostomy RN will serve as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems, such as, complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, and incontinence. The ideal candidate will be repared to provide the full scope of WOC(ET) nursing practice which also includes other components such as, education, counseling, research, and administration.

 

  • Assesses and identifies condition of patient needs by direct observation, examination, patient
    and/or responsible person(s) interviews and their medical records.
  • Manages WOC(ET) nursing office operations and program development as well as outpatient
    services for all patients within the WOC(ET) nurse practice.
  • Plans patient care to reflect goals that are realistic, measurable, and consistent with medical plan
    of care, including discharge planning.
  • Implements nursing and medical plan of care through the delivery of safe and therapeutically
    effective interventions.
  • Provides educational opportunities regarding guidelines of care for patients within WOC(ET)
    nursing practice.
  • Evaluates patient progress toward expected outcomes
Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

 

Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

Experience Requirements

  • One year experience preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Licenses/Certification Requirements

  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Physical Requirements 

  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
