Join Longmont Colorado Public Safety as a Crime Scene Investigator
Longmont Public Safety is seeking a Crime Scene Investigator or Senior Crime Scene Investigator to join our crime scene investigation team. This civilian position performs meaningful forensic work that directly supports criminal investigations, victims, and the Longmont community.
Crime Scene Investigators respond to scenes, document and collect evidence, process latent prints, prepare detailed reports, collaborate with investigators and prosecutors, and testify in court. Senior Crime Scene Investigators lead complex scenes, perform advanced forensic analysis and reconstruction, conduct technical peer reviews, provide training, and serve as subject-matter experts.
Candidates may be hired at either level based on their education, training, certifications, and experience. Employees hired at the CSI level will have the opportunity to develop the advanced competencies necessary for progression to Senior CSI.
