What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist position at Longmeadow Public School District?
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as evaluation specialist for individual assessment of intellectual,
perceptual, social-emotional, and behavioral capacities of youngsters of school age.
2. Acts as behavioral consultant to parents, teachers, and Pupil Services staff.
3. Implements formal behavior management programs, as requested by evaluation
team, for students having special needs.
4. Participates in evaluation TEAM meetings for students who have received
psychological assessments or services.
5. Assists school personnel in the determination of prioritized learning objectives for
selected pupils and in the promotion of techniques to attain these objectives.
6. Provides and participates in in-service training programs.
7. Acts as consultant to Pupil Services staff members employing individual specialized
testing techniques.
8. Selects and evaluates tests for appropriateness, statistical soundness, and usefulness
to the purposes of the department.
9. Statistically computes local norms for tests or screening devices where sensitivity to
town factors is needed to produce more meaningful information.
10. Attends scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings as needed.
11. Keeps abreast of developments in the field and takes responsibility for own
professional growth.
12. Such other duties as may be assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:Environmental conditions are a means of describing the
physical surroundings of a worker in a specific job. This
position is performed in a school setting where the
environmental conditions should have no effect on how the
job is performed.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary Range of $55,474.00 - $104,806.00
