Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Sod Farm and Landscape Laborer, where you'll play a vital role in cultivating lush, healthy turf and supporting landscape projects. Responsibilities
- Assist with the planting, harvesting, and laying of sod to ensure healthy growth and optimal quality for sale or installation
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and other farm machinery safely and efficiently for moving materials and maintaining fields
- Support landscape projects by preparing soil, installing irrigation systems, and handling hand tools for planting and trimming tasks
- Conduct equipment inspections, perform minor repairs, and ensure all tools and machinery are maintained in good working order
- Assist with any and all duties to help fellow team members complete the mission.
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting, operation of power tools, or use of heavy machinery to prevent accidents
Experience
- Supervising experience is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery, mowers, sod cutters is a plus
- Familiarity with forklift operation and heavy equipment handling for material movement is a plus
- Practical knowledge of farming practices, agriculture techniques, horticulture, or greenhouse management
- Ability to handle hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and perform basic math calculations for measurements and quantities
- Growing experience or background in landscaping or green space development is beneficial
- Prior work involving heavy lifting, equipment operation, or maintenance tasks is advantageous
