Construction Finish Carpenter/Forman/Laborer

Longhouse Construction Inc. is a residential and small construction remodeling company. We work in Clackamas and East Multnomah County. We have been in business since 2013.

We value team work and positive attitudes at Longhouse. We have multiple positions to hire for, but specifically are looking for finish carpenters. We want to hire individuals that value hard work, seeing a project to completion, and enjoy being hands on.

We expect any employee to be able to:

-Demonstrated reliability and ability to be on time

-A current and valid drivers license and transportation

-Must be physically fit enough to perform labor intensive work and lift 60lbs.

-Work with integrity and high quality attention to detail.

-Be neat and clean both in appearance and work space.

-Take initiative and be thinking about being prepared for next steps.

We expect a finish carpenter to be able to do everything listed above plus:

-Make precise cuts, preferably with trim and tile.

-Have good caulking skills.

-Quality painting skills and ability to cut in well.

-Own basic hand tools and tool bag.

We expect a foreman to be able to do everything listed above plus:

-Assist with planning and executing tasks in an efficient order

-A good foundational understanding of all phases of remodeling and residential construction work and code.

-Basic high school math including algebra and geometry.

-Be able to measure for take offs, problem solve.

-Knowledge of:

• Carpentry (framing, finish)
• Siding
• Windows and doors
• Hardware installation
• Decks and Fences
• Cabinets (installing modular, and/or ability to build custom pieces)
• Flooring
• Tile
• Minor Electrical and Minor Plumbing

Work for Longhouse:

Most days start around 8 am and end around 4:30 pm as a schedule. However, this is construction and there could be some days where this schedule shifts depending on need.

We have monthly safety meetings with lunch provided.

Year end Christmas Party

Pay will be based on experience and demonstrated skill. 90 day probationary period with a wage review.

We are closed for business on Black Friday and for a week in December. You can take your vacation pay then or save it for when you want to use it.

Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
