Job Opportunity: Lab Director - Clinical and Anatomic Pathology
Location: Saranac Lake, New York
Salary: $135,000 - $192,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Work Hours: 05:30 AM - 04:00 PM

Position Summary:
As the Lab Director, you will oversee all aspects of the clinical and anatomic pathology departments and their related services. You will work closely with the laboratory's Medical Director to set policies, procedures, and objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong leader with excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct clinical and anatomic pathology departments to ensure quality and efficient laboratory services.
- Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and operational standards in collaboration with the Medical Director.
- Maintain laboratory accreditation and ensure compliance with NYSDOH and CAP regulations.
- Prepare and manage the laboratory’s annual budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
- Mentor and evaluate laboratory professionals, providing leadership, training, and career development.
- Coordinate with other hospital departments to optimize patient care and laboratory service delivery.
- Adopt and implement new technologies to enhance laboratory capabilities, improve revenue, and expand testing services.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- New York State Laboratory License required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to work within an organizational structure and manage cross-functional teams.
