Position: Central Sterile Processing Educator
Location: White Plains, NY 10601
Position Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Shift: Days | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Salary Range: $73,019 – $109,528 per year
Department: Operating Room (OR)
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting
- 1–2 years of experience as a departmental educator
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)
- CHL (Certified Healthcare Leader) – required or obtained within one year of hire
- CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) – required or obtained within one year of hire
- Knowledge of AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, FDA, and CDC standards
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and competency programs for sterile processing personnel.
- Manage department-wide quality assurance initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of central sterile policies, procedures, and preference cards.
- Collaborate with nursing educators, infection control, and department leadership to optimize workflow and staff performance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on sterile processing equipment, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.
