We are looking for a Manager, Valuations who is a hands-on, experienced business valuation professional responsible for leading, producing, and reviewing valuation engagements for closely held businesses. This role combines deep technical valuation expertise with operational leadership, staff development, and client engagement. The ideal candidate is an accredited senior practitioner who thrives in both production and oversight roles.
Responsibilities:
Valuation Production & Technical Leadership
- Lead the preparation of informal and formal/full business valuations, including:
- Reviewing company financial statements and financial ratios
- Analyzing governing documents, articles, and agreements
- Assessing marketability and control considerations
- Performing economic and industry analyses
- Forming valuation conclusions and supporting observations
- Engaging with company management and owners as needed
- Maintain and enhance valuation production criteria, methodologies, and review standards.
- Develop, update, and manage valuation models and ensure compliance with NACVA, ASA, and other applicable industry standards.
- Serve as the final technical reviewer for valuation reports to ensure accuracy, defensibility, and consistency.
Operational & Staff Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and develop valuation staff, ensuring strong quality control of all deliverables.
- Collaborate with Data Gathering Specialists to ensure the timely collection of client and company materials.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and documentation updates across the valuation function.
- Participate as a senior leader in ITM leadership meetings, contributing to strategic direction and continuous improvement efforts.
Client & Business Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding engagement scope, findings, and deliverables.
- Present valuation concepts or industry topics to clients or internal stakeholders (minimal travel).
- Negotiate terms, fees, and scope for valuation engagements, statements of work, and related contracts.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Operations.
Qualifications:
- Deep and demonstrable knowledge of business valuation methodologies, standards, and industry practices.
- Accreditation required:
- Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) or
- Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA – Business Valuation)
- Both designations preferred.
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience preparing and reviewing business valuations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree (MBA, MS Finance, or related).
- Experience in fiduciary, trust administration, or related industries.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build scalable valuation processes

The base pay range for this role is $85,000 – $105,000 annual bonus. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
