Hours:
Schedules are posted 2 weeks ahead of time.
At least 40 hours per week. Required overtime varies and can be significant.
- Monday 4:45 AM start, 8 to 12 hour day
- Tuesday 4:45 AM start, 8 to 12 hour day
- Wednesday: typically not worked
- Thursday 4:45 AM start, 7 to 10 hour day
- Friday 4:45 AM start, 8 to 12 hour day
- Saturday 5:45 AM start, 6 to 7 hour day alternating on rotation
Main Responsibilities:
An opportunity to learn multiple tasks involved in the hatchery production of broiler chicks. Mostly indoor work with occasional outdoor work.
Essential Job Functions:
- Fluent in English (preferred)
- Hunger to learn whenever necessary
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work well both with others and independently
- Ability to learn and then perform the tasks involved in the hatchery production of broiler chicks
- Repetitively lifting objects weighing 25-30 lbs from the floor to six feet above the floor
- Pushing 800 lb. racks safely
- Ability to learn safety guidelines and follow them.
- Ability to understand the overall flow of a process involving coworkers
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for the whole shift
- Ability to work in various environments (cool, warm, dusty, wet)
- Mostly indoor work with occasional outdoor work
- Ability to work while standing, squatting, kneeling and sitting
- Ability to learn SOPs and follow them while using practical judgement
- Ability to learn safety guidelines and follow them
- Able to do basic arithmetic
- Other duties as assigned
