The Admissions Director is a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing the admissions process to achieve census growth and maintain strong relationships with referral sources. This is a fast-paced environment—averaging 2-3 admissions per day—where you will be joining a great team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Admissions Management: Coordinate the full admissions process in a high-volume setting; respond promptly to inquiries and screen potential residents against clinical and financial criteria.
Census Growth: Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with local Chicago hospitals, physicians, social workers, and community referral sources.
Marketing & Outreach: Represent the facility at networking events and lead tours to promote specialized programs and services.
Collaborative Transitions: Work with department heads to ensure room readiness and smooth clinical hand-offs for every new resident.
Data Reporting: Prepare and analyze weekly reports on admissions and referrals to track progress toward census goals and market trends.
Candidate Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in nursing home or long-term care admissions and/or marketing.
Payer Source Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, and Managed Care.
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; ability to build trust quickly with families and stakeholders.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in computer systems, databases, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records).
Attributes: Reliable, self-motivated, and highly organized with a positive, enthusiastic approach to a team setting.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
2 years of healthcare-related experience.
Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment with multiple daily admissions.
