Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dynamic General Manager to lead the daily operations of our waterfront marina and on-site restaurant. This role is ideal for an experienced restaurant manager who can oversee both hospitality and recreational operations.
The General Manager will be responsible for managing staff, inventory, guest experience, and operational efficiency across the restaurant, ship store, marina services, and boat rental operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable leading by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory control processes, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction to optimize food costs and quality.
- Oversee POS systems such as Toast POS and Square POS for accurate order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Supervise kitchen staff and front-of-house team members, providing training on food safety, food handling, customer service standards, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations, safety standards, and sanitation practices across all areas of the restaurant.
- Foster a welcoming environment by maintaining high levels of customer service and addressing guest feedback promptly.
- Coordinate shift management duties to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Promote a positive team culture through leadership in training & development initiatives and recognition programs.
- Manage annual slip tenants, communications, and general customer relations.
- Supervise the boat rental procedures to ensure safety and compliance procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall property appearance.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and operational software; learn and adapt to new systems as needed.
- Coordinate general maintenance and report facility needs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and marina regulations.
- Train, supervise, and lead employees across departments.
Experience
- Extensive background in restaurant management with hands-on experience in POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience in hospitality settings, including staff training & development and shift management.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, inventory control practices, and budgeting within the food industry.
- Experience managing casual dining or fine dining environments with a track record of delivering excellent customer service.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, oversee multiple departments simultaneously, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays (major holidays such as Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July Weekend, and Labor Day Weekend are mandatory).
- Marina or waterfront experience is a plus, but not required, and can be trained on the job.
