Job description
• Our client is a prestigious investment firm with over $20bn in AUM. They seek to hire an associate on the Real Estate Investments team with a focus on distressed and special situations investing.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting real estate investment opportunities both at the corporate and asset level. This is a small investment team and the associate will get responsibility across the entire life cycle of the deal.
Responsibilities of the role include:
• Assist in the underwriting and due diligence of new CRE related investment opportunities across the capital stack
• Structure/Build detailed financial models and asset valuation tools to support investment decisions
• Forecast operating performance, financial projections and business plan scenarios for deal-specific underwriting
• Assisting with creating initial screening memos and final investment memos which will be presented before the Investment Committee
• Assist in the preparation of asset-level recommendations for senior management
• Prepare strategic plans for assigned properties and contribute to overall portfolio plans
Qualifications
• 1-3 years of experience of total work experience in real estate credit role, real estate acquisitions or in investment banking
• Significant financial modelling experience
• Advanced Excel knowledge, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.
• Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
