What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Coder position at Long Island Surgical?
** Quick Hire ** Looking for an in-house Medical / Surgical Coder to code encounters for emergency room visits, surgeries, inpatient visits, office visits and more. Position is part of a private practice of surgeons that work in multiple hospitals on Long Island. The candidate may need to also assist with appeals and coding related denials.
General surgical coding experience preferred. Experience with out-of-network physicians/surgeons also a plus.
- Applicant must be familiar with CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS guidelines.
- Applicant MUST have a coding certification * Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification or Certified General Surgery Coder (CGSC) is a plus
Spanish speaking to assist with patient communication a plus.

40 hour work week, Medical/Dental/Vision offered
