Trucking Dispatcher (In Person)

Job Description:

**This is not a remote position. Employees report to the company headquarters in Clearwater, MN**

Responsible for acting as liaison between drivers, customers and management, effectively dispatching deliveries and assisting the driver in whatever means necessary to make sure they have all resources to deliver. Constantly able to use discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance with various factors occurring congruently.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

• Ensure satisfaction with customers both internally and externally
• Customer service – contact non-active customers, acquire new customers, keeping existing customers, and establish rates
• Prepare a daily delivery schedule and coordinate efficient deliveries by applying knowledge of customer schedules, driver schedules and peak delivery times
• Apply knowledge of service area(s) to dispatch sufficient coverage
• Knowledge of delivery vehicle operation capacity to ensure delivery schedules are met
• Understand and ensure adherence to applicable DOT regulations
• Operate communication system and computer systems efficiently to properly communicate with drivers, know their status and enter load information into the computer system
• Maintain a professional office environment and professional relations with customers, other employees and management
• Inform customers of their service status according to delivery schedules as needed
• Resolve operational and delivery problems that require immediate attention
• Perform other related duties as assigned and requested

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior trucking dispatch experience is required
• Ability to practice independent thinking and problem solving without the immediate supervision of managers
