QA/QC Specialist – Data Center Low Voltage / Structured Cabling
Location: Spartanburg, SC
Salary: $115,000–$135,000 per year, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire | On-Site
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced ICT / Low-Voltage QA/QC Specialist for a permanent, direct-hire position supporting a major data center construction project in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
This is a field-focused quality role for someone who truly understands structured cabling, fiber and copper infrastructure, CCTV/security systems, cable tray and telecommunications pathways.
We are not looking for someone who simply completes inspection forms. We need an experienced professional who can walk the site, recognize quality issues, understand why an installation does not meet requirements, and work with field teams to drive corrective action.
What You'll Do
Perform field QA/QC inspections of ICT and low-voltage installations
Inspect fiber and copper structured cabling for quality and workmanship
Inspect CCTV/security-camera infrastructure and associated cabling
Inspect basket tray, cable tray and telecommunications pathways
Verify installations against drawings, specifications and project requirements
Inspect cable routing, labeling, terminations, supports and cable management
Identify deficiencies and develop clear punch-list and quality items
Work with project managers, superintendents, foremen and field crews to resolve quality issues
Verify corrective work has been completed properly
Review fiber and copper testing and supporting quality documentation
Participate in field walkdowns, acceptance inspections and turnover activities
Proactively identify recurring quality issues and help prevent them
What We're Looking For
Strong background in ICT, telecommunications, structured cabling or commercial low voltage
Experience with fiber and copper structured cabling
Experience with CCTV/security-camera systems
Knowledge of basket tray, cable tray and telecommunications pathways
Previous QA/QC, field inspection, commissioning, foreman or similar field-quality experience
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong understanding of installation standards, workmanship and field quality
Ability to independently identify problems and drive corrective action
Strong communication and documentation skills
Comfortable working independently on an active data center construction site
Highly Preferred
Data center or mission-critical construction experience
BICSI Technician or Installer certification
Knowledge of ANSI/TIA structured cabling standards
Experience reviewing OTDR, optical-loss/power-meter and copper certification testing
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Experience with inspection/test plans, NCRs, punch lists and turnover packages
Procore, PlanGrid, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar construction-management experience
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is a long-term, direct-hire opportunity in one of the fastest-growing areas of construction and technology infrastructure.
You'll have the opportunity to take real ownership of quality on a major data center project and work in a role where your technical knowledge, field experience and judgment are valued.
We're looking for someone who can see an installation, recognize what's wrong, understand why it's wrong and help get it corrected — not simply document the problem after the fact.
