Summary of Duties
Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, clerical, and organizational tasks.
Essential Duties and Functions include the following:
- Prepares patient for and assists with examination
- Administers subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections and medications, dresses wounds, and incisions, interprets physician instructions to patients, assists with emergency and minor procedures for both adult and pediatric patients
- Maintains accurate records of vital statistics and other pertinent patient data in the electronic medical record, and manually as necessary, scanning documents into appropriate files in electronic medical record
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment and maintains a stock of supplies
- Controls patient flow in clinic for physician, able to triage patients
- Must be able to perform, or assist as necessary, procedures on adult and pediatric patients.
- Orders, stocks, maintains supply inventory for examination rooms and clinic; anticipates low par levels
- Schedules tests and procedures for patients as ordered by physician
- Possesses basic knowledge of how to prepare specimens to be sent to reference labs
- Performs clerical duties as a front desk receptionist as needed
Job Type: Full-time and Part-time positions available
Pay: Starting from up to $15

Physical Setting:
- Outpatient
- Minimum expected work of 36 hours per week
- Flexible 8 – 12 hour shift
- Monday to Sunday
Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program; High School Diploma; Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from a deeming certification body
- Currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in clinical setting.
- CPR Certification required
- Bilingual preferred
