ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This role is designed to support the broader supply chain and procurement team by coordinating and consolidating purchasing activities and serving as a resource for both LoneStar Fasteners (LSF). The Associate Buyer will support senior buyers and internal stakeholders to process and issue purchase orders for materials, supplies, and services, ensuring timely production and operational needs.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-starter with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for accuracy. They are organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities while supporting procurement processes.

- Monitors ERP systems and departmental inbox for requisitions of supplies; reviews requests, processes orders, and generates purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company policies and established timelines.
- Tracks open purchase orders to confirm delivery schedules and resolves discrepancies involving pricing, quantities, or delivery delays.
- Reviews supply consumption data to identify trends, improve purchasing efficiency, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Supports sourcing activities by preparing bid documents, coordinating supplier communications, and maintaining accurate supplier information and records.
- Maintains procurement documentation and records to ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures, internal controls, and audit requirements.

- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
- Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
- 1- 3 years executing a high volume transactional work queue.
- Experience in local and global steel trade, including metallurgical competency, highly valued.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Some College/Associate’s Degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel or related software
- Strong problem-solving skills and applied logic
- Highly detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
