- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document patient conditions.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology coordination, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual counseling sessions focused on an array of mental health issues.
- Implement crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes; perform crisis intervention when necessary.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical records with detailed documentation of patient progress, medical terminology usage, and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, inpatient/outpatient care coordination, and clinical research projects aimed at advancing mental health practices.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling services while adhering to all regulatory standards for medical documentation and patient confidentiality, when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience in clinical mental health counseling within outpatient setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, and addiction counseling.
- Strong background working with adults involved in the criminal justice system.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Experience in crisis management scenarios involving trauma or PTSD care; ability to perform intake assessments efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and familiarity with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy compliance.
- Telehealth experience is preferred to support remote patient engagement effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
