Job Title: Food Service Substitute
Reports to: Nutrition Director
Qualifications: Must be able to lift 45 pounds of materials, work in warm surroundings, and physically able to stand for prolonged amounts of time.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform required duties at meal functions.
- Prepare menu items according to recipes and serve food in an attractive manner.
- Practice appropriate and consistent portion control measures.
- Help determine the quantities of each food to be prepared and quantity served daily to meet the necessary requirements with regard to the ages of those served.
- Maintain proper serving temperatures for hot and cold items.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen as directed by the Nutrition Director and in a manner consistent with health department standards.
- Practice safe, proper, and efficient use of all kitchen equipment.
- Help supervise and do the daily cleaning of food service area, all kitchen equipment, washing and sterilizing of all dishes, silverware, and utensils for use/non-use of the facility.
- Maintain the refuse collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
- Assist in the preparation of food portions and help prepare cafeteria counter.
- Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter with a positive disposition.
- Remove used dishes and assist in the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area.
