Position Overview:
Lone Star Sports Zone is looking to hire The Summer Camp Director for Baseball & Softball is responsible for leading the overall operation, coordination, and execution of camp activities. This role ensures that all camp stations run smoothly, participants have a positive and engaging experience, and staff are effectively guided and supported. The Director works closely with the General Manager, who assists in organizing logistics, scheduling, and pre-camp planning.
Camps are run Monday through Thursday, 9AM-12PM, every week all summer long.
Note: You do not have to commit to every day or every week to be hired. We are looking to hire a few directors for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily camp operations, ensuring all baseball and softball stations run efficiently and on schedule
- Supervise and support coaches and staff, providing clear direction and leadership throughout camp sessions
- Coordinate with the General Manager on camp planning, organization, and logistics
- Monitor participant engagement, safety, and overall experience
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during camp activities
- Maintain a high-energy, positive, and inclusive environment for campers and staff
- Ensure proper setup and breakdown of equipment and facilities
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management as needed
Qualifications:
- High energy and enthusiasm for working with youth in a sports environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Previous experience running and organizing camps, clinics, or similar programs
- Solid understanding of baseball and/or softball fundamentals
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple stations and staff simultaneously
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a leadership role within sports camps or youth programs
- Coaching background in baseball or softball
