What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Agency General Manager position at Lone Star National Bank?
SUMMARY
The Insurance General Manager is responsible for representing the agency’s brand and image to the public. The Insurance General Manager is also responsible for driving agency growth and business revenue by developing a base for long-term client acquisition and retention.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Drives agency growth and business revenue by developing a base for long-term client acquisition and retention
- Stays abreast of all current product and service offerings as well as industry regulations and changes
- Knowledgeable in Insurance Agency Administrative process: AR, AP, billing, sales and accounting reporting
- Manages the hiring, daily activities, coaching, evaluating and counseling of reporting staff
- Recruits and develops Insurance sales personnel (production)
- Responsible for insurance sales, product sales growth & diversification of products & customers
- Knowledgeable and experienced in finding and maintaining top performing lines of insurance products
- Knowledgeable in Insurance Underwriting requirements & standards
- Familiar with claims processing and adjuster evaluation techniques
- Participates in job specific training and other various Bank training programs, as necessary
- Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy, and ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
- Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations, and ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
- Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML, and ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
- Works together with Lone Star National Bank to ensure that a total customer relationship is established to provide the customer with the solutions and options that they need (added this back in on the bottom)

- Bachelor’s degree (equivalent experience in insurance may be substituted for college degree requirement)
- Licensure in Property/Casualty and/or Life/Health insurance
- Professional designations of CIC, AAI, CPCU, and/or ARM are desired
- 10 years of experience with sales, account management, business development, insurance rating and underwriting
- Full knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, industry operations and insurance markets
- Excellent math skills, PC, 10 key calculator, telephone, word processing and spreadsheet software
- Good customer service, team-working, organizational, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired
ORGANIZATION
- This position reports to the Director of Financial & Insurance Services, or other assigned Bank Executive
- This position oversees the staff of Lone Star Insurance Services
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Failure to adhere to these requirements will be grounds for disciplinary action, including probation and possible termination.
