CTC Dispatcher - San Antonio

The CTC Dispatcher is responsible for efficiently coordinating and dispatching ambulances and medical transport units to emergency and non-emergency calls. This position ensures timely response and communication between field crews, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other emergency service providers while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and composure in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, prioritize, and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service.

• Dispatch ambulances and other response units in accordance with company protocols and service priorities.

• Monitor and communicate with field crews via radio, phone, and dispatch software.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all calls, responses, and unit statuses.

• Coordinate with hospitals, care facilities, and other agencies to ensure efficient patient transport.

• Follow company procedures for data entry, patient confidentiality (HIPAA), and incident reporting.

• Support field crews by providing directions, call details, and updates in real-time.

• Identify and escalate urgent operational or safety issues to supervisors as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the communications center.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).

• Prior dispatch, EMS, or public safety communications experience (preferred).

• Knowledge of medical terminology and geographic familiarity with the service area (preferred).

• Excellent verbal communication and multitasking skills.

• Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under stress.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Proficient with computer-based dispatch systems, radios, and Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Other Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must pass background check and drug screening.

• Must be willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
