Ortho Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking an Ortho Assistant to join our team and support our orthodontists in providing high-quality orthodontic care to patients. The Ortho Assistant will assist with patient care, take X-rays, maintain patient records, and ensure the orthodontic practice runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists with procedures such as applying braces, changing wires, and taking impressions.
• Take and develop X-rays of patients' teeth and jaws.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and care for orthodontic appliances.
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
• Order and maintain inventory of orthodontic supplies.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and filing paperwork.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification as an Ortho Assistant is a plus.
• Proven experience working in a dental or orthodontic setting.
• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, terminology, and equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and dental software.
• X-ray certified
• Bilingual, English and Spanish
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds.
• Willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
