What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical/Electrical Services Technician position at Lone Horse Ventures?
Role Overview
As part of the Services Department, this role will provide aftersales mechanical and electrical support to existing customers across the United States, with approximately 50% travel required.
When based on-site in Warminster, the technician will also support the Fabrication and Assembly Workshop, assisting with mechanical build and assembly activities.
Key Responsibilities
Customer On-Site Support
- Carry out installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of isolators at customer sites across the USA
- Perform on-site fault finding where possible and provide clear, detailed reports to the Services Department
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation
- Complete all site visit documentation, including work performed and parts used
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers as required
Workshop Fabrication & Assembly
- Work as part of a mechanical team assembling and fabricating equipment for the pharmaceutical industry
- Assemble machinery using materials such as stainless steel, plastics, and glass
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, and functional testing of assemblies
- Safely prepare, handle, and manage materials while maintaining a clean and organized workshop environment
Key Requirements
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge (relevant qualifications desirable)
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality service
- Full, clean driving license
- Willingness to travel within the USA, typically for 3–4 weekdays at a time
