Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of pizzas according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for various menu items
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food prep tools
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas, following food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure a hygienic environment
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by managing high-volume food production while adhering to recipe adherence and portion control guidelines
- Help with general kitchen duties such as organizing supplies, restocking ingredients, and ensuring proper food handling practices are followed
- Contribute to menu planning ideas by providing feedback on ingredient quality and preparation methods based on culinary experience
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, including pizza making or similar culinary roles in restaurants or catering environments
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of food safety management practices, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with high-volume production environments and maintaining efficiency under pressure
- Ability to follow recipes meticulously while maintaining flexibility for special requests or modifications
- Background in dietary aide work or dietary department experience is a plus for understanding special dietary needs
- Familiarity with menu planning, cooking techniques such as braising, poaching, grilling, and food industry standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to support a busy kitchen environment effectively
Pay: $17.85 - $28.73 per hour
