Job Description
Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Diet Technician Informatics Assistant provides support to the Dietitian Informatics Manager and/or Dietitian Informatics Specialist by assisting with maintaining all Computrition systems for LLUH. The position will be the first line of support for staff members encountering technical difficulties in accessing/using the system, making food/menu changes as approved by an RD, correcting ADT information to match LLEAP, and extracting information from the system when necessary. The position will also be responsible for entering information into the Computrition data system, updating information, ensuring the accuracy of data, assisting with system software updates, software training, and providing support to the call center/diet office when needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Food or Nutrition required, or Associate's Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics with Diet Technician Registration (DTR) certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. One year of experience working with diet office software such as Computrition or Cboard preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of nutritional food values, meal planning, diet office software, therapeutic menu process. Skill to use diet office software to assist in data entry, making changes, and to provide basic help desk support to software users at all hospitals. Read, write legibly, and speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office and patient care equipment required for the position; perform required patient care activities related to the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) certification and Associate's Degree required in lieu of Bachelor's Degree. Food Handlers Certification required.
