1:1 Direct Service Worker/ Personal Care Assistant, in the home, some time in the community

Seeking trained women and men as Direct Service Workers/ Personal Care Assistants to provide support for a 43-year-old woman with developmental disabilities: specifically, autism and mild cerebral palsy. She requires assistance with all personal care, daily living skills, chores, pre-vocational activities, and recreational activities. She has a behavioral intervention program giving her and her staff guidelines for healthy interaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain certification)
• Field print clearance, fingerprint – or apply at time of application
• TB clearance, at community clinic, free

Knowledge, Skills, Responsibilities:

• Have experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• Work with the behavioral plan, protocols and social development in the home and community.
• Knowledge and experience in assisting others with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, (toileting, bathing, brushing teeth, dressing, hair brushing) meal preparation, daily household chores, arts/crafts/recreation, pre-vocational activities in the community and enjoys walking.
• Be a team player with staff and client.
• Document work in required forms, apps for client records and for payment.
• Communicate effectively with the supervisor, client and their family, team, and community members.
• Maintain strict HIPPA confidentiality guidelines regarding all interactions and client information.
• Enjoy outdoors, walking and helping the client tend to the garden.

Reports to: Supervisor at the Agency and Family

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
