Safety Specialist

Position Summary

The Safety Specialist reports to the General Manager of Operations and is responsible for supporting LOGOS Operating's commitment to safe and compliant oil and gas operations. This position develops, implements, and maintains safety programs that promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and industry regulations. The Safety Specialist works closely with field operations, production, engineering, and management to identify hazards, reduce risk, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement across all company operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Promote a strong safety culture across field and office operations.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, PHMSA, DOT, New Mexico, and other applicable safety regulations.

· Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs.

· Conduct field inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).

· Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

· Maintain required safety records, regulatory reporting, and OSHA logs.

· Coordinate safety training, contractor compliance, emergency preparedness, and safety equipment inspections.

· Monitor safety performance metrics and recommend continuous improvements.

· Travel approximately 80% to field locations and 20% to the office.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in occupational safety or a related field.
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
• 5 years of oil and gas production experience.

Preferred Certifications

· Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

· Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)

· Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO)

· Safety Trained Supervisor (STS)

· OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction

· HAZWOPER certification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Knowledge of OSHA, PHMSA, DOT, and applicable safety regulations.

· Understanding of upstream oil and gas operations and associated hazards.

· Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to build effective working relationships with field personnel, contractors, and management.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

· Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

· Ability to walk uneven terrain; climb stairs and ladders; bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around active oil and gas facilities while wearing required PPE.

· Ability to travel extensively to field locations.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
