The Opportunity – Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) ManagerWe are seeking a highly skilled Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Manager to oversee all aspects of our FTZ operations and compliance programs. This leadership role reports to the Vice President of Contract Logistics and plays a key part in ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, optimizing zone utilization, and supporting efficient, compliant supply chain operations.
The FTZ Manager will serve as the primary liaison with CBP, FTZ Board, brokers, and regulatory agencies, while also driving process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiency. This is a strategic, high-level role requiring expertise in customs compliance, import/export regulations, bonded warehouse operations, and international logistics management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage daily FTZ operations including admissions, exports, zone-to-zone transfers, and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with CBP, FTZ Board, and U.S. trade compliance regulations.
- Develop, maintain, and update FTZ manuals, SOPs, and training programs for staff.
- Manage FTZ audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action plans.
- Track and report FTZ savings and operational performance to senior leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, compliance, safety, sales, and customer service teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, compliance, and cost reduction.
- Mentor, train, and lead staff to ensure excellence in trade compliance and supply chain execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
- Minimum of 5 years of Customs and FTZ management experience.
- Licensed Customs Broker, CCS, or CES certification strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of import/export compliance, bonded warehouse operations, CBP regulations, and ACE Portal systems.
- Experience in distribution, transportation, warehousing, and international trade compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience a plus.
- Ability to travel as required.
