What your day looks like as a Ship Crane Operator:
- Safely operate Ship to Shore Cranes including GL/GLE, RTG, and Gantry Crane
- Safe and knowledgeable operation of equipment
- Inspection of equipment for defect or damage before and after operation
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining equipment to safety standards
- Discharge Vessels promptly
- Attentive to operations and surroundings
- Follow scheduling and production goals set by management
- Work as a team to meet, achieve, and exceed goals when possible
To succed as a Ship Crane Operator you must have:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 6 months experience with Ship Crane Operation (marine t erminal or heavy industrial environment preferred).
- Must possess valid relevant crane training certification if you do not have work experience. This includes Gantry Crane, GL/GLE, or K4 Crane Training.
- Understanding and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used for Crane Operation.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC card (for more information visit the TSA website on TWIC requirements)
- Valid US driver's license
- As a port employer our team is subject to working in all weather conditions including extreme heat and harsh winters. We work in all weather conditions.
- All employees must pass a background check, drug screening, and pre-employment physical
