Position: Electro-Mechanical Troubleshooting Engineer
Location: Sylmar, CA
Pay: $90,000 to $110,000/year (Depending on experience)
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience is required; 10 years of experience is preferred.
Education: Engineering degree preferred (Industrial Engineering ideal; BA accepted), but not required.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (Ability to work OT as needed)
This is a hands-on Electro-Mechanical Troubleshooting Engineer role focused on diagnosing equipment issues, tearing down/rebuilding electric motors, and guiding technicians through repairs. Please note: This is not a design or CAD engineering position.
Job Description:
- Learn the operation of molding machines and support production needs.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical system issues and provide workable solutions.
- Tear down and rebuild electric motors as part of ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Apply critical thinking skills to understand how and why systems function.
- Support and guide technicians through repair processes and corrective actions.
- Ask thoughtful questions and actively listen to identify root causes and system behavior.
Position Requirements:
- Strong listener with a solid mechanical and electrical understanding.
- Natural curiosity with a desire to understand how equipment and systems work.
- Ability to think critically, ask targeted questions, and learn quickly.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset are more important than formal credentials.
- Must be 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours a day.
