Distribution Project Cost Controls Advisor
We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Controls Advisor to support Distribution Project & Program Management (DPPM). This role requires deep expertise in cost engineering, advanced analytics, and expert-level Excel skills to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for major distribution construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, estimates, and cash flows for distribution projects and programs.
- Build and manage cost monitoring and reporting systems; ensure accurate and timely cost reports.
- Identify cost overruns/underruns and advise leadership accordingly.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple facilities; conduct site visits to validate scope and estimate assumptions.
- Perform complex data analysis and prepare recommendations to support project decisions, cost control, and risk mitigation.
- Support governance reviews, audits, regulatory filings, and monthly T&D accruals.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and cost management best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 years of cost controls experience for major construction projects.
- Required: Utilities industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of CPUC requirements and Capital/O&M cost structures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Required: Expert-level Excel skills (advanced formulas, modeling, automations).
- Preferred: Intermediate Power BI (Power Query, DAX), and electric utility background.
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
