Logan Steel seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist who will manage various HR functions to ensure compliant operations within our organization, as well as prioritize safety and training.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment:
- Handle job postings, screen and recommend candidates, schedule interviews, and prepare job offer letters.
- Actively participate in job fairs to attract top talent.
Onboarding/Training:
- Complete new hire packets and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure new employees are set up with time clocks and coordinate comprehensive safety training.
- Manage I-9 compliance and emphasize a culture of safety from day one.
Performance Appraisal:
- Schedule and conduct performance reviews, document outcomes, and provide insightful recommendations to management.
Workforce Engagement/Management:
- Develop clear job descriptions and open lines of communication.
- Assist with disciplinary actions and support career growth opportunities.
- Seek grant opportunities for employee training and development programs.
Payroll Management:
- Accurately track work hours, manage payroll processes, and oversee vacation, sick days, and deductions.
Employee Benefits:
- Administer retirement plans, manage insurance enrollments, and oversee benefits renewals and COBRA compliance.
Safety & Wellbeing:
- Collaborate on safety improvements and ensure strict OSHA compliance.
- Mediate employee disputes with a focus on maintaining a safe and positive workplace.
Compliance Management:
- Maintain the Employee Handbook, ensure legal compliance, and manage risk through meticulous recordkeeping.
Workers Compensation:
- File and manage workers' compensation claims and document workplace injuries with a focus on prevention and safety improvement.
Employee Exit Strategies & Succession Planning:
- Manage retirements and terminations, and conduct exit interviews to gather valuable feedback.
Miscellaneous Office Work:
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, document preparation, and maintaining office supplies.
- Assist with supporting other departments as needed to ensure smooth office operations.
Qualifications
- Experience in HR management with a strong emphasis on safety and training.
- Strong communication skills and knowledge of employment laws are preferred.
- Proficiency in office administration, organization, and multitasking is highly valued.
