Position Summary:
Logan Steel is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented 3D Modeler specializing in sheet metal design. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in creating accurate and efficient 3D models and technical drawings for our fabrication team, ensuring seamless production and adherence to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 3D models of sheet metal components and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Create flat patterns and detailed technical drawings for fabrication and assembly
processes.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements.
- Revise and optimize designs to improve manufacturing efficiency and minimize waste.
- Interpret and apply technical specifications, engineering notes, and industry standards to designs.
- Conduct design reviews and troubleshoot any design or production issues.
- Maintain organized records of designs, revisions, and project documentation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a 3D Modeler with a focus on sheet metal design.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including bending, cutting, and welding.
- Knowledge of materials, tolerances, and industry standards related to sheet metal.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field (preferred but not required).
